June 27
I took some pictures of the boys this morning while they were still sleeping soundly in their tent.
Waking up...
We got dressed and headed to downtown Savannah to walk along River Street and see the boats.
I have to pause and tell you about that family that is mixed in with ours.. we were walking past them when Larry said, "Hey! They have more kids than us! That's not fair." We laughed about it, but I had to talk to her. They have 7 kids and their oldest is 7 1/2. It was awesome :)
Jared wanted to go on this ramp SO bad. He was quite mad at me for not letting him.
One foot... trying so hard to be rebellious...
A man sang for us, but he kind of scared the kids ;)
A woman made them swords
Yes! A big big boat! Awesome
I thought it would be fun to walk through the candy store with the kids, so in we went!
And it was fun! Isaac liked the machines
They were SO good! As we were leaving a woman came up to me and said "Torture." I'm used to people making comments about how hard it must be to have 3 kids, so I just smiled and said no, that they were a lot of fun. She clarified herself and said it must be torture for the boys to be in a candy store. And I thought about it and realized that it wasn't- we told them before we went inside that they would each be able to pick one piece of candy. And they were fine with that. It was one of those "big-sigh-because-at-least-this-one-moment-wasn't-hard" kind of moments. My kids throw tantrums, but not in candy stores, so I'll take it!
Isaac had asked for "the milk one" so he got a white chocolate pretzel. (Oddly enough he didn't want sprinkles)
But rest assured Jared most certainly did want sprinkles. And he wanted his sprinkles to stay ON the pretzel. He spent so much time picking up individual sprinkles that fell off his pretzel and putting them (rather, trying to put them) back on the pretzel. And notice his nibbles- he wouldn't eat the actual pretzel. He just wanted to nibble the chocolate off from around the pretzel.... killin me.
When we got back Isaac helped water the plants :)
That night we had dinner at Larry's moms- it was Larry's uncle's 50th birthday.
Larry and his brother
Loraine and Mason with Teri and Steve
Hee hee
Getting dinner! Mmm
Time to blow out the candles... they let Isaac and Jared do it :)
Little stinker...
Mmm cake!
