Good grief! Why didn't I post this?! I wrote it back in November. Sigh...
Last Friday night Larry and I were trying to think about something special to do. Through most of the year he has something to do on Friday nights, whether it's football games, Quest or ALLIANCE. So we try to take advantage of the few Friday nights we have together. Unfortunately, we couldn't think of anything! So we decided to just take a walk around the mall. It turned out to be a great time! Larry wanted the boys to be able to walk around, so we left the stroller in the car (I thought he was crazy) and wrapped Grayson in the Moby wrap so I could carry him. When we walked in Isaac wanted to go up the escalator. Once we were up he wanted to go back down, so we did. We decided to let Isaac tell us where to go and we would follow him. It's tough being 3 because all of a sudden you can do so much- walk, run, jump and climb, and you can say so much and express your feelings. Unfortunately, you still have to listen and do what your parents tell you to. So this little bit of freedom and being able to be the boss for awhile was fun for him! We quickly found out that Isaac was far more interested in stepping inside each square on the mall floor than he was in looking at the stores around him. Jared, however, wanted to touch every little thing in those little set up stores in the middle of the walkway. When he saw the monkeys in the window display at Children's Place we decided we should follow Jared instead of Isaac so we could go in. :) Later Isaac wanted to walk into Godiva (I GLADLY followed him in there!) and of course he couldn't walk past the big Mickey Mouse head without entering. They walked around in the Disney store (I decided I want this for Christmas- the bottom is a snow globe! So cool :)
They were SO good when it was time to go. We walked over to the indoor play area and Isaac rode the train. Jared was going to ride, but when we asked him he said No, so he sat with me and I let him play while Larry and Isaac went for a ride. We stopped at the Cookie store before heading home. It turned into a very cheap night out with the family and everyone had a really good time. I'm so incredible blessed to have such a sweet, fun family. Love these good times together!
Larry took these from inside the train.
