2 Week Check-Up

On November 19 I took Jared for his two week check-up. Here are his new stats:

Weight: 7 lbs 4 oz -- 13% (He needed to be back at his birth weight, so we were very happy that he passed that!)

Height: 19 3/4 -- 12%

Head circumference: 13 1/2-- 8%

He still has jaundice, but the levels are going down. The doctor said that he has breast milk jaundice, which is not a surprise to me. Isaac had it as well. Click here to read an article that explains jaundice and breast milk jaundice. Since Jared is gaining weight well and has plenty of wet and dirty diapers, the doctor is not concerned. She did suggest that we get him out in the sun daily to help speed up the process of getting him jaundice free. Unfortunately, it's been quite cloudy and cold lately. We'll have his levels checked again at his one month appointment and hopefully see an improvement.
