1 Month

Is he really a month old already? I feel like this past month is a daze of memories. It's been a wonderful experience, though quite a different one from the first month with Isaac. Jared is still sleeping sporadically and eats often. He is a very hungry boy! When I weighed him this morning he was 8 lbs, 9 oz. I am definitely more tired than I was with Isaac, but at the same time, Jared is a really good baby. He hardly ever cries and he is very easy going. As long as someone is holding him, he is happy!

Here are some pictures that captured this past month.

I know people wonder how it's going with two, so I'll be honest. It's not easy. I just keep waiting for Jared to start sleeping longer at night. We are only getting a few hours here and there through the night and it's difficult to sleep during the day since Isaac is on one nap now. We are still trying to teach Jared how to sleep on his own. I am hoping that by January he will be on a good sleep schedule, since that is when I go back to work for good.

As hard as it can be at times, I do feel more relaxed than I did with Isaac. It's been wonderful to breast feed Jared and know that he is gaining weight and thriving. I've also had a much easier time with leaving Jared and letting other people hold him. I know I still suffer from Crazy New Mom Syndrome (CNMS -- maybe you've seen the commercials??), but at least it's not as bad as it was the first time around :)

I have to say, too, that I have loved the family time I've had. It hasn't just been me bonding with Jared, but it's been the four of us bonding as a family. People often ask, especially after a tantrum with Isaac, or a sleepless night with Jared, "And how many do you want?" The answer remains the same, only even more emphatically: However many God blesses us with. I don't want to imagine my life without Larry, Isaac or Jared. I am enjoying the present time I have with them and am open to the future blessings God has for me.

I also would like to take a moment to thank all of our family and friends for your prayers and support this past month. Nobody expected Jared to come 3 weeks early or to be 6 lbs, 11 oz. So many of you offered clothes, food and other items we needed for the baby. I just want to say thank you so much. It really helped make our first month go so smoothly!
