1 month check-up

I took Jared to his one month check-up today. Here are his stats:

Weight: 9 lbs, 1.5 oz (24%)

Height: 21.5 in (39%)

Head: 14.5 (17%)

I thought this was funny... I copied this from Isaac's 2 day check-up:

Weight: 8 lbs, 9 oz (He was 9 lbs when he was born, and 8 lbs 5 oz when we left the hospital. So he is gaining his weight back, which is good!)

Head Size: 14 in

Height: 21.5 inches

One month later and they are so similar!

The doctor said he looked great :) He still has jaundice, but that should be going away in the next month or so. He has a little baby acne, which again Isaac had. There's nothing we can do about it, but it will go away soon. He was very pleased with his weight gain, which of course made me feel happy!

The last two nights Larry and I finally got some sleep. He slept 6 hours straight both nights, but only because he was in bed with us. The doctor encouraged me to continue to try to get him to sleep in his crib. He said eventually he will get used to it. I remember feeling disappointed in how easily Isaac would sleep in his pack n play and crib. I felt saddened that he didn't need to be held by me all the time. Now I'm wishing Jared would lay down for just a little while without being held! That's just the way it goes. :)

I've noticed a few things about Jared. For one, he does not have "The Summerlin Feet." Isaac's first two toes will separate, which is something that his Uncle and his Granddaddy Summerlin could do. Jared's toes don't do that, but he does have his Daddy's ears. :) It's so much fun to see the differences between the boys and find ways that they are like each of us.
