Family Update

What a busy summer! I got a part time job tutoring kids through DFACS and Larry just finished up Band Camp with Sprayberry. We were able to take a trip to Savannah and had a great time. (Some pictures have just been posted, others will be coming soon) We also just had the boys' pictures taken by the same photographer who took Isaac's pictures last year. Here is a link to the slideshow. The password is jenny. If you are interested in ordering any pictures just get in touch with Larry or I and we will send you the link and password to the ordering page.

Jared and Isaac BOTH have a new tooth! Right after Isaac turned 2 he made it clear that he was TWO! Now we realize he was teething and are happy to report that the monster that took over our son has left. He has a new second molar, which means only 3 more teeth to go! Jared had his two bottom teeth for a few months, but now he has an upper left tooth that just came in. His upper teeth are supposed to come in first, but some babies don't follow the rules and Jared has made it clear that he follows his own rules! He has been cruising from furniture to furniture and loves it! I let him stand on his own today and he was able to do it for a few seconds before he fell. However, he didn't just fall over to the side, he caught himself and just sank down to his knees. It won't be long before he is walking around on his own. THEN we'll be in trouble!

Isaac loves to sing now and it's awesome! He knows the tune to a lot of songs, especially Twinkle, Twinkle, the ABC's, and a book song that he learned at story time. Out of nowhere he will start singing and I'm reminded that my baby boy is growing up!

Jared is closer to being 1 than 0 and he definitely looks like it now. We bought him new pj's and the 12 month fit him, which of course made me sad! I feel like he's turning 6 months old, not 9 months! He loves Cheerios now and pieces of banana. We still make his baby food, but he would rather feed himself. I've been slowing weaning him to a bottle over the summer, mostly because my tutoring schedule was very hectic. I'm down to nursing once a day, but that will probably end in the next few days. I definitely recommend breast feeding and I'm really glad I was able to do it for almost 9 months.

This is a nutty time of the year for us... Larry has Marching season at the high school and Alliance, plus his private lessons. I start back at work teaching 1st grade (which is both exciting and scary!), plus I'll be tutoring until September 30. Updating the blog is always on my mind and I really appreciate the family and friends that check up on the boys. I'll do the best I can these next few months to keep updating. We are definitely taking the pictures, it's just hard to get the time and energy to sit down to update. Keep checking back, though!
