Larry and Jenny Update

Larry:

Larry just finished a season of ALLIANCE and did very well! This was his last year to march, so it was bittersweet at times, but he will remain involved as a teacher and composer for the group as before. Last year they came in first place in the Class A division, so this year they moved themselves up to Open Class. The classes are determined by the number of people you can have in your group. Their goal this year was to make it to finals and to come in the top 5 in drums. They came in 9th at prelims, then made it to 8th at finals. They came in 4th in drums :) Needless to say, the group is very excited and ready to do even better next year!

Larry was also hired recently at a local music store to teach private lessons! For now he can only teach on Wednesdays since he teaches the drum line at a local high school. It's a blessing for our family and came at the perfect time, since Jared will be here soon!

He also recently celebrated his 33rd birthday. We went to the Braves game and got tickets for the All You Can Eat and Drink seats. It was a lot of fun and it helped that the Braves won!

Jenny:
I'm still getting used to being a pregnant teacher, mommy and wife. The past four Mondays I've had some ailment come over me. The first weekend I pulled my back and stayed home, the second I had a bladder infection, the third I had a stomach bug and ended up spending a day in the hospital to get fluids put back in and this past Monday morning I was sick again from eating something bad at dinner. Mommies out there understand me when I say this, it's hard to remember to take care of yourself when you have an adorable 1 year old that wants to play and a classroom of students that you need to plan for. Since ALLIANCE is over now, I won't be alone with Isaac on the weekends, which should help a lot. Either that or I have a theory that Jared will be born on a Monday!

The pregnancy itself is going well. I've been doing much better this time with my weight gain, which I am hoping will help me feel better in these last months. Jared is moving around A LOT. The nurses had a hard time finding his heartbeat because he kept moving and one nurse even described him as, "a wild one." It looks like I really am producing clones of Larry! It's weird, too, because as much as Isaac moved around, he never woke me up. This little one parties all night long and let's me know it!

I'm really enjoying my class this year. I have an inclusion class, which means I have traditional students as well as students with special needs. I also have a second teacher that's with me through the day to help with students who need it. I was really worried about the make up of the class, but I really enjoy this group and I get along well with the other teacher. She's great with the kids and we make a good balance.

So there you have it... an update! Since Isaac came along the blog has become mostly about him, so I wanted to let you all know how we are doing, too :)
