July 6
We went to the mall this morning. My kids are fascinated by the escalators.
Isaac was cracking me up. Larry was playing football on the Xbox and Isaac was holding a second controller. He was pretending to play and saying the things he's heard Larry say while playing the game. Thankfully, we turned our home into a G-rated house after the boys were born ;)
Larry is showing Isaac the seeds and explaining what's going to happen.
We decided to let the boys pick out what they wanted to plant and as long as it was in season, we would do it!
Jared found some other fun things to do with plants for kids. We'll have to try that another day :)
Isaac wanted to help ring up the items.
When we got home we saw we had another package! Isaac was given some birthday money, so we bought him a couple of things we knew he'd love!
And love it he did! He now is the proud owner of Rocky, a Thomas train that has a real magnet attached to it and can help other trains that fall off the track. He kept calling Rocky his "special present."
Happily playing with Rocky while Grayson eats a train....
We also got him a trampoline! However, when he saw it he said, "Aww, I don't want this! I just want my special present!"
Things were different once he saw the trampoline put together. (Thank, Larry!) Of course, the pictures are blurry because my kids are jumping fools, but I think you can gather that they were happy!
Next it was time to start planting the garden! Isaac wanted to help and was a very good helper! At least, for a few minutes he was. Jared was more like me- not at ALL interested in gardening!
Planting the pineapple!
Jared making funny faces through the screen while Daddy and Isaac dig up weeds and I take pictures. Yep, Jared has a little bit of me in him ;)
Isaac needed a break, too.
This cracked me up because, even though it's blurry, it's perfect of how Jared felt about this adventure. "But I don't wannnna plant a garden!"
But, at last, the fun part began. It was time to plant seeds!
It was a lot of work for Larry (me and Jared, not so much) but it was worth it! Of course, I keep forgetting to water it. So we'll see what happens. I really need to get better about that. But we've already started seeing sprouts and Isaac loves to go out and water the garden. Hopefully we'll have broccoli, green beans and cucumbers shortly!
