June 3:
The Woodruff Arts Center and High Museum had a free community day on Sunday! After church we stopped by the house to make sandwiches and headed to downtown Atlanta.
The first stop was at the "Artlanta" station.
The ARTLANTA sign was made up of name tags that the kids colored.
They thought this was SO cool.
There is a kids area that my children demolished. See that little girl the background? I watched her when my own boys left this section. She and her mom built a bed and she dressed up as a princess and it was so sweet. My boys did not do that.
My husband helping Isaac squish Jared.
I love this. When we walked into the art gallery Larry sat Isaac down and explained how adults paint and create things and we can't touch them but we can look and all that jazz. It was sweet.
The boys enjoying the view.
Isaac "reading" the map.
Jared's turn to read the map.
Now this... well, this was a special moment. There were different lines to try out different instruments. We found ourselves in the french horn section and Larry was worried. He said it's one of the hardest instruments to get to make noise. Isaac tried, and definitely had fun trying, but did not make any noise come out.
But man, he had fun trying!!
Next it was Jared's turn and you better believe that little stinker got noise to come out. Larry was thrilled. He has said all along that he thinks Jared will be our brass player because of the way he blows raspberries.
Considering Jared has his granddaddy's middle name, and he was a fantastic trumpet player, this was a goosebumps moment for us.
Of course, I keep telling Larry all of our kids will end up being in the drama club like their Mama ;)
