Hospital Visit

I can't remember now if I did a post on our visit to Children's back in September, but these are the pictures we took while there. Yes, I am That Mom who takes pictures of her baby in the hospital. The nurses assured us that I was not the only one and that it's pretty common. Either way, I didn't care. He was simply too cute!

In case I didn't do a previous post on the events, here's what happened:
Larry saw Jared chewing on something in the bathroom. He tried to get it out, and noticed it was a hearing aid battery. Then Jared coughed once and the battery was gone. My hearing aid batteries are very small and fall out of the case easily. Often times if it falls out, I can't find it again. I'm sure Jared found one that had fallen. So Larry told me and wasn't too happy about it. The babysitter was on her way so we could have a date night. We left and I checked on Larry's phone just to make sure it would pass through like a penny or something. Well of course everything I found said terrible, terrible things. We turned around, in the pouring rain, and went back home to get Jared. We woke him up and took him to Children's Hospital to get checked. They had to do xrays, which was horrible. We had to hold him down and everything. Other than that experience, he was happy and fine. They said the battery had already passed through to his intestines, so we had to look for it. We never found it, but he never showed any symptoms of concern.
Oh, and I will say this. I grew up around hearing aid batteries. Jared is the first person I've ever heard of who swallowed a battery. Go figure.

Here he is waiting in the waiting room. He was the happiest sick baby you've ever seen in the ER.

He is holding his blood pressure cuff. I've never seen one so little!

I mean, seriously? With the robe that opens in the back? Now do you see why I had to take a picture? He was precious!

And now, when a battery falls out, we look for it until we find it.
