Special Request

Many counties around the area (including the one I work in) are facing huge budget cuts. Important programs like music, art and PE are on the chopping block. Teachers could lose jobs as class sizes are increased. Cobb county teachers are looking at 6 furlough days and possibly going to a half day kindergarten among other huge cuts. Cobb is looking at a $130 million deficit for the next year. At this point, I am honestly praying that I keep my job and that the pay cut won't be life changing. We will not receive contracts until May 15. If you are a Cobb County resident and you pay taxes or have children who attend Cobb schools, please go here to fill out a survey. You are given a voice in what are some very difficult choices. Please let the county know what is important to you.
