The Summerlin Family: Mom Speed

I've discovered something the past few weeks that I'd like to call, "Mom Speed." I'm sure that if Newton or Einstein had been women, they would have discovered a formula for this. I have faith that in the near feature a female mathematician/scientist will come up with something. There is nothing quite like it. I've seen it before, but I've never experienced it first-hand until Isaac decided that he was ready to start walking down the stairs. Important note: Isaac can't walk down the stairs. He's simply not tall enough. We never worried before because he loved to climb up, but he would stand at least a foot away from the top step and never showed any interest in going back down. Then about 2 weeks ago I was getting clothes for him out of his room when I had a funny feeling and went to check the hallway. Sure enough, he had one foot over the top step, ready to step down, or in my mind, plummet to his death. I was there before I knew I was moving and grabbed him just as his foot was going down. I never knew I could move that fast, especially not pregnant! All of a sudden, every step and stair is where he wants to be, causing me to fully appreciate moms who say, "I've been chasing my toddler around all day." Those moms aren't kidding around. We have a gate for the bottom of the stairs on its way and we now have a gate in the hallway at the top. Good grief!!
