He loves to read now, also. After we read him a story at bed, we put the book in the crib with him. He doesn't cry anymore when we leave the room, because he has a book to read before he falls asleep. He also will bring books to us to read. If he likes the book enough he picks it up and drops it my lap to read again. His favorite right now is Swim Little Wombat, Swim. That one has been in the car the past few days and I hear him reading and laughing in the backseat.
He's started saying some words, as well. The other day he had a first words book we were reading together. He pointed to a pair of shoes and said, "Shoes." I freaked out :) He will bring you shoes and say the word as well. He does the same thing with "Ball."
The only thing we have to be careful of is saying, "Bye-bye." If I ask him if he's ready to go bye-bye, he goes to the door and waves. So if I'm not actually ready to go yet...well, he gets very impatient!
It's just been a wild month of growth for him. It's been a wonderful two weeks and I am going to miss him terribly when I go back to work next week. However, his face lights up when he sees his Daddy, so at least I know he's in good hands!
