Larry and I have been participating in The Great Date Experiment, held by our church. They plan out 1 date a month for you for 6 months. I have to pause and give Northpoint some kudos on this project. One of the fears of belonging to a large church is getting lost. Andy Stanely (our pastor) and I aren't exactly on a first name basis relationship. However, Northpoint is aware of the downside of a large church. They do what they need to do in order to overcome those obstacles. For a large church, I do not feel lost. I genuinly feel as though my church cares about me and my marriage. We recently connected with a small group, since they do not have "Sunday School" and we are already seeing the changes in our marriage and in our personal lives that are a direct result of this time. Andy Stanely, the guest speakers, and all of the people who work at Northpoint do a fantastic job following the mission statement that they set forth when they started the church, which is to lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. So, thanks for all the good you do, Northpoint, and thanks for our great dates!
Here is a picture of our most recent Great Date. Larry had to set up our dinner in an "unusual place." It was fun and delicious!
