In Loving Memory

I fell in love with my husband for many different reasons, one of which was that I saw in him "the heart of a teacher." As we dated and it came time to met his family, he kept warning me, "Now, I'm just like my Daddy." I thought there was no way there could be anyone like Larry. When I met his Dad, I realized that Larry truly is just like his father! It did not take me long to see that Craig had that same heart that I saw in Larry. As I met the rest of the family, who all welcomed me in their arms as though I had been a part of their family my whole life, I realized something. Craig did not have the heart of a teacher, but rather the heart of a Summerlin, which is much, much bigger. Craig loved big and deep. He was loyal to his family and friends, and would help any way he could when the time came up. He was proud of his sons and always wanted more for them. Of course, he also took great joy in aggravating the people he loved most! It pains me that Isaac will not grow up to develop a relationship with his Granddaddy who loved him so much. However, I have full faith that he will know his Granddaddy's legacy and that he too will have the heart of a Summerlin.

To Craig's mother, his wife of 29 years, his son of 17 years, to my husband and the rest of his family and friends- my prayers are with you every night and day. I loved Craig and will miss him terribly. I believe whole-heartedly that Pastor John was right on Tuesday. Craig is now playing for the Lord and is getting ready to play his trumpet for all to hear.

What a wonderful tribute! I especially love the pictures of Craig with Isaac. I know those are something you all will treasure in the years to come. We're praying for you all. Love, Andi
