6 Month Update

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been six months since we said "I do" and dashed off to Disney World. It's been a fantastic six months and we have been so blessed.
We moved into our apartment in Vinings the day we got back from Disney. We love it here. We're on the third floor, which pizza delivery people hate, but the view is fantastic. We overlook a lake and trees. Can't beat that!

In September we started going to Financial Peace, a 12 week program by Dave Ramsey. We just finished last week and are happy to report that we have over $1000 in savings, and have paid off close to $4,000 in debt!! Next month we should have my car paid off, then all we have left to tackle is student loans. As a newly married couple, it's hard to explain how much the class helped us financially and spiritually. We have been working together each month to prepare a budget and help each other to stick to it. We may have other problems (like who is going to wash clothes :), but they are so trivial to the money problems that break up so many marriages. We have a far way to go to be debt free, but we have a strong foundation now to get us through to that point. We have to thank Karri and Michael, who gave us the class as our wedding gift. It was life changing!

While in Dave Ramsey, we were also able to save up for and buy our first big purchase: a dining room table! Now we can sit at our table and still see our awesome TV! One of the blessings of being married is having someone to cheer with when exciting things happen in our lives. Shortly after we got married Larry was offered a different position at Ridgeview. He is now a counselor and works Mon-Fri, 7-4. He enjoys his new position and I enjoy the new hours! He also finished a successful season in Alliance, where they placed 1st in class in percussion. Quest has recently started again, and things are looking good in the early stages!
Of course, the most exciting news of all is that we're having a baby!! Shortly after we got married we decided to leave it up to God. We couldn't really decide how long we should wait, but we trusted that God knew. We are happy to say that He has blessed us with a healthy pregnancy and only a few mood swings :) We will continue to update the blog as the pregnancy progresses to let you know how things are going, so check back again!
